PENTECOST/SHAVUOUT/FEAST OF WEEKS/FEAST OF FIRST FRUITS

The 'Feast of First Fruits' which is also known as 'The Feast of Weeks', 'Shavuot' and/or 'Pentecost'; is commanded by THE MOST HIGH to be observed in it's season. This Feast is calculated by counting 7 Sabbaths from the Sabbath that follows the Feast of Unleavened Bread. After the 7th Sabbath is complete the next day begins the 'Feast of First Fruits. Therein is a holy convocation (gathering), feasting and joy. The Feast is also a Sabbath meaning servile work, buying and selling is prohibited however, cooking is allowed as it is a feast.

Now you must understand that under the New Covenant there is no physical sacrifice instead we observe with joy and gladness and holy convocation giving glory to THE MOST HIGH through Christ.

"And ye shall count vnto you from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheafe of the waue offering; seuen Sabbaths shalbe complete.

16 Euen vnto the morrow after the seuenth Sabbath, shall ye number fifty dayes, and ye shall offer a new meat offering vnto the Lord."

~Leviticus 23:15-16

"Also in the day of the first fruits when ye bring a new meat offering vnto the Lord, after your weekes bee out: ye shall haue an holy conuocation, ye shall doe no seruile worke." ~Numbers 28:26

"Seuen weekes shalt thou number vnto thee: beginne to number the seuen weekes, from such time as thou beginnest to put the sickle to the corne.

10 And thou shalt keepe the feast of weekes vnto the Lord thy God with a tribute of a free will offering of thine hand, which thou shalt giue vnto the Lord thy God, according as the Lord thy God hath blessed thee."~Deuteronomy 16:9-10

There may be many that believe that this Holy Day is no longer kept under the New Covenant, this is not true as it states in Acts. You can see from the book of Acts they were keeping the Holy Day "Pentecost" and they were all together(holy convocation).

"And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heauen as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting."~Acts 2:1-2
