THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES ALSO KNOWN AS THE FEAST OF BOOTHS OR SUKKOT (SUCCOT) IS A HOLY DAY THAT IS TO BE KEPT BY THE ISRAELITES THROUGHOUT THEIR GENERATIONS. IT IS KEPT IN THE 7TH MONTH ETHANIM OR (TISHRI/TISHREI) AND 15TH DAY OF THE MONTH, IT IS KEPT FOR 7 DAYS FROM EVEN TO EVEN, ALSO IN THIS HOLY DAY WE HAVE AN 8TH DAY THAT IS A HOLY CONVOCATION AS IS THE FIRST DAY. (LEVITICUS 23:34-36, 39,42)..

THE PROPER WAY TO OBSERVE THIS HOLY DAY ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURE IS AS FOLLOWS; ON THE FIRST DAY AND LAST DAY (8TH DAY) THERE IS A HOLY CONVOCATION (GATHERING). (LEVITICUS 23:35,39) THESE ARE SABBATH DAYS, SO THERE IS TO BE NO SERVILE WORK THEREIN. THIS MEANS NO WORKING FOR HIRE, NO BUYING, NO SELLING. THIS HOLY DAY IS A FEAST HOWEVER SO COOKING IS ALLOWED.

DURING THIS HOLY DAY WE DWELL IN TENTS (BOOTHS) FOR 7 DAYS. NOW THIS MAY BE A NEW THING FOR MANY OF OUR PEOPLE BUT IT BECOMES MORE JOYFUL OVER TIME.

NOTE: YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO OUT OF THE STATE OR THE CITY TO OBSERVE THIS HOLY DAY,  MANY OF OUR FORE-PARENTS PITCHED TENTS ON TOP OF THEIR HOMES OR ON THEIR PROPERTIES (NEHEMIAH 8:14-16). IF YOU WANT TO MEET UP WITH BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN OTHER CITIES AND STATES TO DWELL IN BOOTHS FOR SEVEN DAYS THAT IS GREAT AS WELL.

DO NOT ALLOW WICKED ISRAELITES TO MAKE YOU THINK YOU HAVE TO GO TO CERTAIN PLACES TO OBSERVE THIS HOLY DAY, THAT IS A LIE AND A HERESY. THESE TYPES UP BURDENS THAT SOME LEADERS PUT UPON OUR PEOPLE  WILL CAUSE YOU TO FEEL BURDENED AND MAKE THESE JOYFUL FEASTS BECOME GRIEVOUS.

HOW TO OBSERVE:

  • JOY AND GLADNESS

  • DWELL IN BOOTH/TENT FOR SEVEN DAYS

  • FEASTING

  • CONVOCATION ON FIRST AND 8TH DAY

  • NO WORKING ON FIRST AND 8TH DAY

  • NO BUYING OR SELLING ON THE FIRST OR 8TH DAY

Leviticus 23:42
Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths:

Leviticus 23:34
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD.

Leviticus 23:39
Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.

Nehemiah 8:14
And they found written in the law which the LORD had commanded by Moses, that the children of Israel should dwell in booths in the feast of the seventh month:

Nehemiah 8:15
And that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities, and in Jerusalem, saying, Go forth unto the mount, and fetch olive branches, and pine branches, and myrtle branches, and palm branches, and branches of thick trees, to make booths, as it is written.

Nehemiah 8:16

So the people went forth, and brought them, and made themselves booths, every one upon the roof of his house, and in their courts, and in the courts of the house of God, and in the street of the water gate, and in the street of the gate of Ephraim.
